The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Scholarship embodies the corporation’s dedication to fostering educational excellence and driving socio-economic development in Ghana. Through this initiative, GNPC aims to support talented Ghanaian students pursuing both postgraduate and undergraduate studies especially those with a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines, empowering them to become future leaders and innovators in their respective fields.

The GNPC Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses and learning materials.

Criteria for application for the GNPC scholarship

Applicants must be Ghanaian citizens, possessing a valid Ghanaian national ID card or birth certificate. Candidates are required to demonstrate outstanding academic performance and must have gained admission to study a postgraduate or undergraduate program in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana.

Teachers and lecturers in STEM and TVET institutions are eligible to apply. Students from Nursing Training College and Colleges of Education are not to apply for the GNPC scholarship. Individuals with disability are encouraged to apply for the program. Students who enjoy any form of educational scholarship are not to apply.

Application process

Prospective applicants must visit the official Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)  Foundation Scholarship portal  and complete the online registration form which requires providing accurate details and submitting all the necessary documents.

Undergraduate applicants will be required to provide a scanned copy of their admission letter, WASSCE results, a testimonial from their previous school, proof of nationality, a passport picture, transcripts for continuing students application and previous undergraduate certificates (degree, HND, diploma) and corresponding transcripts for applicants pursuing another undergraduate program.

Postgraduate applicants will also be required to provide a scanned copy of their admission letter, first degree and other degree certificates, curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation (academic and occupational), transcripts, national service certificate, proof of nationality and a passport picture. It is imperative to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all submitted documents to avoid disqualification. Applications submitted in hardcopy will be rejected. Applicants with disability are required to provide medical certificates stating the seriousness of the disability.
